Vendor Feature: Kelly Sherlock Events

We are really excited about this blog post because we are featuring one of our favorite vendors: Kelly Sherlock Events! We got in contact with Kelly and had her answer a few questions about weddings and working with us!

Tell us about yourself and where you’re based!
I am a wedding and event planner and designer out of New Orleans. We have been in business for about 12 years and counting!!! A good bit of our business comes from destination clients coming to New Orleans and then, of course, large local weddings. We have been known to travel as well, especially to second homes that our clients own out of the New Orleans area. Our favorite weddings are the “at home” weddings no matter where they are! There truly isn’t anything that our team can’t handle – big, small, COVID or otherwise… We got it!! 😉

What is your favorite part about the planning process with a client?
My favorite part is getting to know the couples (and their families) and then being able to pull out their personalities and the details that they have been dreaming of and bringing it all together in a design or just the overall wedding day/ weekend. Whenever someone has something in their mind and we can bring it to fruition, and then some, that’s the best feeling in the world! Ending the night with smiling faces and people who will now forever be embedded in our lives… it’s the icing on the cake, so to speak!

Can you share a memory about working with Nola Dukes Band? Honestly, I have a ton of memories working with Nola Dukes, as I work with them often, and every memory is amazing! It’s always fun times with them. Their energy is non stop and they are just a powerhouse of a band keeping the dance floor packed and everyone entertained. Everyone knows that no matter how much you plan, there’s always something (whether it’s the weather, an “over active” guest, or a mistake on another vendor’s part) that can throw a small kink in a wedding day. I’ve never had something happen to cause NOLA Dukes to have a “Diva moment”. No matter what it is, we are rolling with it together and always giving the best of themselves!!! They are true professionals and true performers. The show must go on and it’s an amazing show at that!

Share one of your most memorable experiences as a planner – I have too many memories to just pick one that is the “most” memorable. But I will say that the most memorable moments, couples, weddings and/ or experiences revolve around wonderful people and amazing vendors, such as Nola Dukes. For any of the couples reading this, be a positive memory. When you hire the right people, meaning professionals, then you are able to sit back and enjoy your day. 99% of the things that could go wrong can be avoided with good planning and good planning means hiring the best of the best. Once you have the best vendors, you can relax because we’ve got it! I would say the clients that get that, and trust us, always give us the best and most memorable wedding days and those days always include a hell of a lot of dancing and an amazing band like Nola Dukes!!!
